Who I Choose When I Needed A Cheap Windows VPS

I was recently in need of a cheap Windows VPS provider. I was working on a specific project that needed to be run on Windows. The project itself is not important. Normally I use Linux for just about anything, especially when it comes to running a VPS instance. I like Linux and it's what I am used to. Linux is also the operating system of choice for cheap VPS providers. So I have to do some research to find a reliable, yet affordable Windows VPS provider.

In the end I settled on VirMach. This is a reliable VPS provider that offers Windows VPS instances about as cheap as you will be able to find anywhere. Their cheapest Windows plan starts at seven dollars and month and includes 1GB of RAM, an SSD drive, Remove Desktop and a dedicated IP.

I actually ended up going with their $10 Windows VPS plan, which gave me 2GB or RAM and a bit more disk space. This also included DDOS protection. It's a great deal from a reliable VPS host.

VirMach also provides Linux VPSs and dedicated servers. They currently have ten different locations, most of which are in the United States, but also a location in Frankfurt, Germany. This is not some fly-by-night company that is offering deals that are too good to be true. When getting a VPS, it's important to use a company that is trustworthy and has been in the game for a bit. Otherwise you risk your data disappearing, getting stolen, or having your 1GB of RAM actually end up being a measly 256MB or RAM. If a company has been around for a while and has multiple locations, you are generally safe.

Creating the Windows VPS was fast and I was able to remote desktop into the machine right away. I ran this Windows VPS for about three months, and when I no longer needed the instance I was able to cancel the VPS without a problem. There were no hidden fees and no weird surprises.

I would recommend VirMach to anyone looking for a decent Windows VPS.
