When working with computer hardware, a proper set of precision screwdrivers is essential. Investing in a good screw driver and a good set of wide-ranging screwdriver bits will save you time and make working with hardware easier.
The iFixit 64 bit driver kit should be perfect for just about any electronics repair project. This includes repairing iPhones, Android phones, Dell, HP, IBM and Apple computers and laptops. The manufacturer put a lot of thought into the design of the bits, the driver and even the case for this precision bit kit.
The Bits
When working with computer hardware, a large amount of varying bits is important. Different devices have different sized screws. If you regularly work on electric devices such as computers, console controllers, and cell phones, you will need a wide range of different sized bits to fit all the different screws that you will be loosening and tightening. As most people know, using the wrong sized bit can strip a screw making it a huge pain to unscrew.
The iFixit 64 Bit Driver Kit has every sized bit that I ever needed when working with various electronics. I was able to find the correct bit for every precision project. iFixit went though numerous specification and repair manuals when choosing the bit types and sizes to include. The bits themselves are magnetized, which is obviously extremely useful when dealing with tiny screws and small spaced.
The bits are made from 6150 tool steel. This type of steel is made additionally hard through the addition of chromium and vanadium. This created a hardness of C-55 to C-58 in the Rockwell range.
The bits are engraved so you can easily tell them apart and keep them well ordered in their case.
The Driver
All the bits in the iFixit 64 Bit Driver Kit fit perfectly into the driver. The driver is also magnetized, ensuring that the bits stay snug while in use. The handle provides up to 8.5 N-m of torque. It has a comfortable, solid grip and is made from aluminum. The bearing in the driver has virtually no play.
this is definitely well designed and ergonomic. I found that the design of the driver helped prevent any strain or discomfort to my hand, even after a long duration of usage.
The Case
The case of this precision screwdriver kit is what will make the very first impression on you. The case features magnetic closure, ensuring durability. The case stays closed when you want it to without any issues.
The top of the case has walls which allow you to use it as a screw sorting and holding area. You can use this to keep the different screws you are using separated and sorted.
This case is impressively built and it shows the quality of this product.
The bits sit in a foam case. At first I thought that the foam might become loose over time, but the design is actually really snug and I never had a problem with bits getting loose. Between that and the magnetic top, you will not loose any bits.

This iFixit screwdriver kit is a buy-it-for-life product. I’ve used this screwdriver kit for numerous projects and never ran into any problems and none of my bits needed replacing. Looking at the experience of others, I see that iFixit will quickly replace any damaged bits, without question.
A product that you buy for life should last you for life. If there are any problems along the way, the damaged product should be replaced. iFixit is great at making sure both of these things are true.
